Community Garden Dedication
Recently PentaHealth, The Chester County Food Bank, and Hillsdale Elementary School in the West Chester Area school district partnered in supporting the building and in maintaining a large, beautiful community garden. The Garden is located behind Hillsdale school, and it is in very close proximity to the outdoor classroom. It has been a great educational resource for the children as a learning tool and for the community as a source for fresh produce.
The Garden is run by very dedicated volunteers, teachers, and students, and supported by the school’s PTO. PentaHealth has been a financial beneficiary of the Hillsdale Community Garden through the PTO since its inception. Since the Garden has been created more than 800 lbs. of food was able to be delivered to the Chester County Food Bank in the 2022 growing season. In 2023 with continued support the Garden will have 3 growing seasons with hopes of a larger amount of food supplied to the Chester County Food Bank. The plants and seedlings are supplied by Chester County Food Bank.
This effort is to ensure the children at Hillsdale Elementary continue to learn the importance of growing and eating healthy food as well as providing an incredible resource to their community. PentaHealth loves being able to support and be part of this community!

Christopher received his Bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University. Majoring in English, with a minor in Biology. Furthering his education at Duke University, Christopher earned his Master’s in Health Administration.

New Company Will Power Primary Care Practices
in the Philadelphia Region to Thrive in Value-Based Care
West Conshohocken, Pa. (August 5, 2020) – Tandigm Health announced today the launch of Tandigm Physician Services, a management services organization (MSO) designed to give physician practices advanced capabilities for delivering value-based care.
The new organization, formed in partnership with Gateway Medical Associates, will provide a proven set of tools and technologies – already achieving improvements in the quality and value of health for Tandigm and Gateway patients – and make them available to additional practices looking for support to thrive under value-based healthcare models.
Ultimately, this model is designed to strengthen the viability of independent practices, improve financial performance, and give providers the freedom and flexibility to focus on the clinical work at the heart of providing patient-centric, high-value care. The model will not only improve patients’ overall well-being by making sure they receive the right care, at the right time, and in the most appropriate settings, but will significantly contribute to greater economic health for the region.

Studies continue to show that large amounts of U.S. healthcare spending are unnecessary or wasteful, by some estimates nearly $1 trillion per year. The U.S. healthcare system is the most expensive in the world and Philadelphia is among the highest-cost regions. Yet, despite the high cost, health outcomes in the U.S. and the Philadelphia area continue to lag.
