Welcome Dr. Monika Kumanova

We are excited to welcome Dr. Monika Kumanova to PentaHealth! She is now seeing patients at our Colonial Family Practice location.

Dr. Kumanova is a Board-Certified Physician in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She has ten years of experience managing a broad spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions in primary care. Her focus is on adult medicine with an interest in women’s health and lifestyle medicine.
Before joining Colonial Family Practice of PentaHealth, she worked as a Physician at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center and Tower Health. She has provided health care to veterans while at the VAMC.

Dr. Kumanova received her degree from the Medical University of Sofia – Bulgaria. She also has a degree in chemical engineering. Coming to the United States, she initially worked at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and contributed to stem cell and cancer research. She completed her Family Medicine Residency training in New York at the Bronx – Lebanon Hospital Center.

Dr. Kumanova is passionate about primary care. She believes that many chronic medical conditions are preventable. Her goal is to help her patients achieve optimal health through disease prevention by adhering to a healthy and balanced lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, and mental health.

Doctor Kumanova lives with her husband in the beautiful Chester County and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves traveling, arts, music, reading, and staying active. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine, American Medical Association, and American Obesity Association.

Independent Medical Group Expands to Provide Personalized Primary Care to More Patients

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–PentaHealth, a physician-run and physician-owned independent medical group, announced a new partner in delivering outstanding primary care to more patients in the Philadelphia region: Mount Airy Family Practice (MAFP). As a PentaHealth practice, MAFP will continue to deliver high quality health care to patients in the Philadelphia region, especially the Mount Airy, Chestnut Hill, and Germantown neighborhoods.

Since its founding in 1989, MAFP has been dedicated to providing the best possible and most effective care for patients. Joining PentaHealth will preserve the values that have allowed MAFP’s providers to serve more than 8,200 active patients, despite increasing administrative requirements in the health care system.

New Company Will Power Primary Care Practices
in the Philadelphia Region to Thrive in Value-Based Care

 

West Conshohocken, Pa. (August 5, 2020) – Tandigm Health announced today the launch of Tandigm Physician Services, a management services organization (MSO) designed to give physician practices advanced capabilities for delivering value-based care.

The new organization, formed in partnership with Gateway Medical Associates, will provide a proven set of tools and technologies – already achieving improvements in the quality and value of health for Tandigm and Gateway patients – and make them available to additional practices looking for support to thrive under value-based healthcare models.
